El Síndrome post-COVID o COVID prolongada es una entidad emergente aún no definida a nivel mundial. Se han identificado síntomas en este síndrome, pero no hay acuerdo en cuales son los que forman parte del mismo, ni su criterio temporal. La revalencia e incidencia varía de acuerdo a los reportes publicados en la literatura, siendo aproximadamente del 10%. Dada la heterogeneidad de la signosintomatología y la variabilidad de la evolución, esta situación representa para el equipo de salud un desafío no solamente en la identificación del problema de salud,sino también en el desarrollo de protocolos de actuación diagnóstica y terapéutica. Se ha puesto en evidencia que es fundamental jerarquizar la comunicación en la relación médico paciente para evitar el uso de estudios en forma indiscriminada que atentan contra la tranquilidad del paciente, logran sobre diagnósticos y atentan con la racionalidad del uso de recursos, lo que va en deterioro de la Salud Pública, devastada por la pandemia. Presentamos las respuestas a 10 preguntas claves que pueden ayudar a los profesionales de la salud que atienden pacientes post-COVID a tomar buenas decisiones, basados en la evidencia actual disponible.

Post-COVID Syndrome: Answering 10 Key Questions Post-COVID Syndrome or prolonged COVID is an emerging entity not yet worldwide defined. Symptoms have been identified in this syndrome, but there is no agreement on which ones are part of it, nor their temporal criteria. The prevalence and incidence differ according to the reports published in the literature, resulting in approximately 10%. Given the heterogeneity of the signsymptomatology and the variability of the evolution, this situation represents a challenge for health team not only identifying the health problem, but also in the development of protocols for diagnostic and therapeutic action. It has been shown that it is essential to prioritize communication in the doctor-patient relationship to avoid the solicitude of studies indiscriminately that threaten the patient's tranquility, achieve diagnoses and challenge the rationality of use of resources, which goes in deterioration of Public Health, devastated by the pandemic. We present answers to 10 key questions that can help health professionals who care for post-COVID patients to make good decisions, based on the current evidence available.
