The sample covered the range of diameter at the breast heigth (Dbh) of the plantations check. Each tree was cut off from the base recording active, passive and occluded galleries. By means of lineal and nonlineal regression models it was studied the tendencies in the galleries distribution according to Dbh, their distribution accordind to shaft heigth intervals, the relation between the number of complete and active in the whole shaft with the ones located in the lower parts. In boths surroudings, the range from 12 to 15 cm of Dbh was the minimum affected. The number of complete galleries in the firth three meters was a good indicator of the number of complete galleries in the whole shaft.
